Rooms

The Rooms tab is where you create review rooms, share them, and moderate them live.

Create a room

Click + New Room and fill in:

• Name — shown to everyone in the room (e.g. Client Review — Project X).
• Stream key — the key the broadcast comes in on. Leave it None for a call-mode room.
• Delivery mode — how the stream reaches the browser. See Delivery modes.
• Expires — optional. After this time the room stops working.
• Password — optional. Required to join if set.
• Waiting room — hold people on a queue until you admit them.
• Audio defaults — noise reduction, echo cancellation, and push-to-talk, preset for everyone who joins. Each person can still change their own.

Save and the room shows up as a card.

Call mode

Leave Stream key set to None and the room runs in call mode: no broadcast, just the conference — camera, mic, screen share, chat, and files. Assign a key later and the stream appears. Handy for a plain meeting or a pre-session briefing.

Plan ahead — rooms and keys are independent

Rooms are stream-key agnostic: a room doesn't need a key to exist or be shared. Create it, send the link, and attach a key whenever you like — before the session, or even after it's already started.

TIP

Set up every room for a busy week in advance and share the links with clients now, then drop in the right stream key shortly before each session. The room switches automatically — out of call mode onto the stream when a key is attached, and back when it's detached. No new link, nothing for participants to do.

In a facility with several colorists or suites, give each machine — or each colorist — its own key, then attach whichever key applies to whichever room. A key can move between rooms, and any room can take any key. Mix and match as the schedule changes.

Delivery modes

Set per room and authoritative — there's no automatic fallback between modes.

• WebRTC — sub-second latency. Best default for SDR review.
• LLHLS — ~2–5s latency, broader device support, and the only browser path for HDR.
• Farbplay App only (SRT · H.265) — for the native Farbplay player. Farbplay is in development and not yet available; until it ships this leaves the room call-only in the browser.

The room card

Each card shows the room's name, delivery mode, expiry, and assigned key, plus its two links and live controls.

• Room link — https://<host>/watch/<slug>. Share with participants.
• Host link — the same room with presenter controls. Share only with co-hosts.

Use the copy buttons on each. Edit changes any setting; End Room closes it for everyone.

Enter a room as host

Click Enter Room on a card and set your name (defaults to Host). You join with presenter controls — moderation, screen share, and the shared pointer.

Moderating

• Waiting room — pending people appear on the card and in the roster. Admit them one at a time, or Admit all.
• Mute — silence a participant's mic, server-side.
• Remove — kick someone. They can't rejoin unless you re-admit them.

End a room

End Room disconnects everyone and shows a "session has ended" screen. Expired rooms end themselves.
